What’s with all the naked dresses at Alexander McQueen A/W 2016-17?

I felt like it was kind of hit-and-miss at the RTW show in London last month, which was presumably Sarah Burton’s last collection before she leaves for Dior. I loved the dreamy theme, but some of the dresses just felt, I don’t know, kind of vanilla.

This is all relative, of course. Because after seeing a gown constructed out of f-cking bones and horsehair at the V&A’s Savage Beauty exhibition in London, everything else pales in comparison.

Not to say that there weren’t some dope pieces, like the leather corset dresses and the coats covered in butterflies and pocket watches. And the sequined unicorn gown reminds me of that cute Valentino LBD Emilia Clarke wore a while back.

It’s just that… Didn’t the naked dresses seem kind of like every other dress we saw on J.Lo, Kim K. and Beyoncé at the Met Gala last year?
